Founder's message

Simuka Tiende Mwanasikana — Her Gentle Reset is a Christian oriented initiative grounded in compassion, lived experience and a deep commitment to supporting women navigating complex and often silent struggles.

As a trained social worker and a woman who has personally navigated the realities of marriage, motherhood and extended family dynamics, I have come to understand that many of the challenges women face are layered, deeply personal and often misunderstood.

I understand what it means to feel out of place in a space where you believed you belonged — the emotional weight of walking carefully, trying to maintain peace while managing your own internal struggles.

Importantly, I understand — without judgment — why many women remain in challenging or harmful situations. Decisions around staying or leaving are rarely simple. They are influenced by emotional bonds, financial realities, children, social pressures and deeply rooted cultural beliefs.

There was a period in my life where the emotional burden became overwhelming. I experienced depression and at one point struggled with suicidal thoughts. Through faith, reflection and intentional rebuilding, I found my way toward healing.

It is from this place of healing, clarity and professional grounding that Simuka Tiende Mwanasikana was established.

This initiative provides a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental space where women can begin to process their experiences, access relevant information and be connected to services that can support them.

Because every woman deserves dignity. Every woman deserves support. And every woman deserves the opportunity to begin again.

Why we exist

Abuse is not always visible.

It can be emotional, psychological, financial or physical — and it often leaves women feeling trapped, powerless and alone.

Losing a partner without financial or social support
Going through divorce and painful custody battles
Children separated under difficult circumstances
Pressures of single parenthood with limited resources
Fear and financial dependence
Social and cultural expectations
